The Microchip Technology USB5534B-4100JZX is a configurable, low-power, 4-port USB hub controller. It is fully compliant with the USB 3.0 Specification, supporting SuperSpeed (5 Gbps), Hi-Speed (480 Mbps), Full-Speed (12 Mbps), and Low-Speed (1.5 Mbps) USB signaling.

 

This hub controller operates in parallel with its USB 2.0 controller, ensuring that SuperSpeed data transfers are not impacted by slower USB 2.0 traffic. The USB5534B supports battery charging on a per-port basis, with automatic USB data line handshaking for USB 1.2 Charging Downstream Port (CDP) and Dedicated Charging Port (DCP) devices, as well as legacy devices. It also emulates popular portable product chargers.

 

Configuration options include internal default settings, on-chip OTP ROM, external SPI ROM, or SMBus. The device features an on-chip 8051 microcontroller for managing GPIOs, VBUS, and other hub signals. It is supplied in a 64-VFQFN Exposed Pad package.
