The Microchip Technology USB2512A-AEZG-TR is a low-power, OEM-configurable, MTT (multi-transaction translator) hub controller IC designed for embedded USB solutions. It is fully compliant with the USB 2.0 specification and supports low-speed, full-speed, and hi-speed downstream devices.
Key features include a high-performance multiple transaction translator (MultiTRAK), flexible port mapping (PortMap), and programmable USB differential-pair pin locations (PortSwap) to ease PCB design. The PHYBoost feature allows for programmable USB signal drive strength to recover signal integrity. The device supports individual or ganged power control for each downstream port and includes fully integrated USB termination and pull-up/pull-down resistors.
This hub controller IC operates from a single external 3.3V supply, with internal regulators providing 1.2V or 1.8V internal core voltage. It supports various clock sources, including an onboard 24 MHz crystal driver or an external 24/48 MHz clock input. The USB2512A-AEZG-TR offers 4 kilovolts of HBM ESD protection and supports self- or bus-powered operation. It is also compliant with the USB Battery Charging specification Rev. 1.1 for Charging Downstream Ports (CDP).
The USB2512A-AEZG-TR is supplied in a 36-QFN (6x6 mm) package, suitable for surface mounting. It operates within an extended commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C.
