The Sensata UPL1-28147-6 is a hydraulic magnetic circuit breaker from the APL/UPL series. This legacy product features a single pole and a lever actuator for manual operation. It is designed for panel mounting, offering reliable circuit protection and power switching. The breaker operates similarly to an ON-OFF switch under normal load conditions, but its internal mechanism trips and forcibly returns the handle to the OFF position upon detecting an overload. This "trip-free" design ensures the internal contacts cannot remain closed during an overload, even if the handle is held in the ON position. The APL/UPL series is recognized by UL and certified by CSA as supplementary protectors. Please note that this is a legacy product, and no new design-in orders are being accepted. Sensata Technologies recommends the Airpax™ IAL series for new designs.
