The Sensata UPL1-27944-1 is a hydraulic magnetic circuit protector from the APL/UPL series. This single-pole breaker is designed for panel mounting and features a convenient lever actuator for operation. It provides reliable, low-cost power switching, circuit protection, and circuit control.
Upon overload, the internal mechanism trips, opening the contacts and forcibly returning the handle to the OFF position. The protector is 'trip free,' meaning the internal contacts will not remain closed in the presence of an overload, even if the handle is held in the ON position. This ensures effective circuit protection.
This legacy product is recognized by UL per UL STD. 1077 as a supplementary protector and certified by CSA per CSA STD. C22.2–No. 235. While designed for industrial, military, and information processing applications, it is suitable for any situation requiring precision operation.
Note: The APL/UPL series is a legacy product, and new design-in orders are not being accepted. Sensata Technologies recommends utilizing the Airpax™ IAL series for new designs.
