This product belongs to the APL/UPL series and is identified as a legacy component. Sensata Technologies advises that no new design-in orders are being accepted for this product line. For new designs, the Airpax™ IAL series is recommended.
The APL/UPL series provides reliable, low-cost power switching, circuit protection, and control. The handle operates like an ON-OFF switch, but the internal mechanism trips and forcibly returns the handle to the OFF position upon overload. It is 'trip free,' meaning the contacts will not remain closed under overload conditions, even if the handle is held ON.
While designed for industrial, military, and information processing applications, it is suitable for any situation requiring precision operation. Most versions are recognized by UL as supplementary protectors and certified by CSA.
