The Sensata UPL1-1REC4-1402-470 is a single-pole hydraulic magnetic circuit breaker from the APL/UPL series. Designed for reliable, low-cost power switching, circuit protection, and control, this breaker functions similarly to an ON-OFF switch under normal load conditions.
Upon detecting an overload, the internal mechanism trips, opening the contacts and forcibly returning the handle to the OFF position. This 'trip-free' design ensures the internal contacts cannot remain closed during an overload, even if the handle is held in the ON position. The breaker features lever actuation and is designed for panel mounting.
This legacy product is recognized by UL per UL STD. 1077 as a supplementary protector and certified by CSA per CSA STD. C22.2–No. 235. While designed for industrial, military, and information processing applications, it is suitable for any situation requiring precision operation. Note that this is a legacy product and no new design-in orders are being accepted; Sensata Technologies recommends utilizing the Airpax™ IAL series for new designs.
