The Sensata UPL1-1REC2-7996-11 is a single-pole hydraulic magnetic circuit protector from the APL/UPL series. This legacy product is designed for reliable, low-cost power switching, circuit protection, and control. It features a lever actuator for manual operation, similar to an ON-OFF switch, and a panel mount for secure installation.
Upon detecting an overload, the internal mechanism trips, opening the contacts and forcibly returning the handle to the OFF position. The protector is 'trip free,' ensuring contacts do not remain closed under overload conditions, even if the handle is held ON. This model is recognized by UL per UL STD. 1077 and certified by CSA per CSA STD. C22.2–No. 235 as supplementary protectors.
While designed for industrial, military, and information processing applications, the APL/UPL series is suitable for any situation requiring precision operation. Sensata Technologies recommends the Airpax™ IAL series for new designs as the APL/UPL series is a legacy product with no new design-in orders being accepted.
