The UF5408-E3/54 is an ultrafast recovery plastic rectifier diode from Vishay General Semiconductor, part of the UF5400 series. It features a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage of 1000V and an average forward rectified current rating of 3A (at 55°C, 0.375 inch lead length). The device has a maximum forward voltage of 1.7V at 3A, with a typical forward voltage of 1.0V at 3A and 25°C junction temperature.
With a maximum reverse recovery time of 75ns, the UF5408-E3/54 is optimized for high frequency rectification and freewheeling applications in switching mode power converters and inverters used in consumer, computer, and telecommunications equipment. It also offers a peak forward surge current capability of 150A (8.3 ms single half sine-wave) and a low junction capacitance of 36 pF at 4V and 1MHz.
The diode is housed in a DO-201AD axial leaded package suitable for through-hole mounting. The package is molded with UL 94 V-0 rated epoxy, and the matte tin plated leads are solderable per J-STD-002 and JESD 22-B102. Polarity is indicated by a color band on the cathode end. The part is RoHS3 compliant (E3 suffix).
