The Allegro Microsystems UDN2981A-T is an 8-channel bipolar source driver suitable for high-side switching applications. It is designed to interface between low-level logic and high-current loads such as relays, solenoids, lamps, and motors.
This device supports load supply voltages up to 50V and offers an output current capability of 500mA per channel. It is compatible with 5V logic systems including TTL, Schottky TTL, DTL, and 5V CMOS. The inputs are non-inverting and activated by an active high signal.
The UDN2981A-T integrates input current limiting resistors and output transient suppression diodes for enhanced protection. Under normal operating conditions, it can sustain 120mA continuously for each of the eight outputs at an ambient temperature of +50°C and a supply of 15V. The operating temperature range is -20°C to 85°C.
Packaged in an 18-lead plastic dual in-line package (DIP) with a copper lead frame for improved power dissipation, the UDN2981A-T is designed for through-hole mounting.
