The Semtech uClamp2512T.TCT is a TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diode specifically engineered to protect sensitive components in Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. It provides high ESD withstand voltage of +/-30kV per IEC 61000-4-2 and can withstand over 1000 ESD strikes at Level 4.
This device operates at a working voltage of 2.5V and features a low reverse current of 10nA typical. Its capacitance variation is minimal across bias voltages, ensuring stable operation on GbE lines. The uClamp2512T.TCT offers a peak pulse power of 100W and a peak pulse current of 10A (8/20µs).
Constructed with Semtech’s low voltage EPD process technology, it utilizes solid-state silicon-avalanche technology. The diode is housed in a compact SLP2010N8T package, measuring 2.0 x 1.0 x 0.4 mm, and is suitable for surface mount applications. It is designed to protect two line pairs and is Pb-Free, Halogen Free, and RoHS/WEEE compliant.
Applications include 10/100/1000 Ethernet, LAN/WAN equipment, security cameras, industrial controls, notebooks, and desktop computers, particularly those with integrated magnetics and RJ-45 connectors.
