UCD7232RTJR Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The UCD7232RTJR from Texas Instruments is a dual high current gate driver designed for digitally-controlled synchronous-buck power stages. It offers compatibility with TI Fusion Digital Power Supply Controllers, such as the UCD91xx and UCD92xx families.

This device operates with an input voltage range of 4.7 V to 15 V and can support operation down to 2.2 V input with an external bias supply. It features high-side FET and output current limit protection with independently adjustable thresholds, along with a fast high-side overcurrent sense circuit that provides a fault flag output to prevent catastrophic current levels on a cycle-by-cycle basis. The UCD7232RTJR includes a differential high-gain current sense amplifier and a voltage proportional to load current monitor output.

Packaged in a 20-QFN (4x4) with an exposed pad, the UCD7232RTJR is designed for surface mount applications. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to 125°C (TJ). The gate driver supports N-channel MOSFETs and operates in a half-bridge configuration with synchronous channel type. It has a logic voltage range of 0.8 V and 2 V, with rise times of 27 ns and 21 ns, and can operate at switching frequencies up to 2 MHz.
