The UCC284DP-5 from Texas Instruments is a negative linear-series pass regulator optimized for low-dropout applications where low quiescent power is critical. Fabricated using BCDMOS technology, it is well-suited for low input-to-output differential applications.

This regulator can pass 0.5 A while requiring only 0.2 V of input-voltage headroom. The dropout voltage decreases linearly with output current, resulting in less than 20 mV dropout at 50 mA.
