The Texas Instruments UC3714D is a high-speed, dual-channel gate driver designed to provide drive waveforms for complementary switches, commonly used in synchronous rectification and active clamp/reset circuits for zero voltage switching.
This device features a high-current power FET driver with 1-A source and 2-A sink capabilities, and an auxiliary output FET driver with 0.5-A source and 1-A sink capabilities. It supports independent programming of time delays between the two output waveforms, ranging from 50 to 500 ns, and also offers true zero-voltage sensing capability for immediate switch activation upon zero voltage application.
The UC3714D operates with a switching frequency up to 1 MHz and has typical propagation delays of 50 ns. It features a single PWM and TTL-compatible input and an ENBL pin that activates a 220-µA sleep mode. The power output is active-low in sleep mode.
Packaged in an 8-SOIC (0.154", 3.90mm Width) format, the UC3714D is designed for surface mounting. It operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C (TJ) and requires a supply voltage between 7V and 20V.
