The UAA2016PG by On Semiconductor is a specialized power controller IC designed for zero voltage switching applications. It is engineered to drive triacs using a zero voltage technique, enabling RFI-free power regulation for resistive loads. This makes it ideal for precision regulation in electrical heating systems, such as panel heaters and irons.
Key features include direct AC line operation, proportional temperature regulation with a ±1°C band around the set point, and a built-in digital sawtooth waveform. For energy efficiency, it offers a programmable temperature reduction function. Security is enhanced with a sensor failsafe that inhibits output pulses if the sensor connection is broken. The device also supports preset temperature applications, like defrost, and allows for adjustable hysteresis up to 5°C.
