The Texas Instruments TX7332ZBX is a 32-channel, three-level transmitter designed for applications such as ultrasound imaging. It integrates a transmit beamformer, offering very low power consumption in various modes, including receive-only (0.45 mW/ch), transmit-receive (16.4 mW/ch), CW (160 mW/ch), and global power-down (0.1 mW/ch).
The device features a three-level pulser with a maximum output voltage of ±100V and a minimum of ±1V, and a maximum output current ranging from 1.2A to 0.3A. It also includes an active transmit/receive (T/R) switch with a bandwidth of 50 MHz and a turn-on time of 0.5 µs.
For beamforming capabilities, the TX7332ZBX supports both off-chip and on-chip beamformers. The on-chip beamformer operates with a maximum clock speed of 200 MHz and includes on-chip RAM to store 16 delay profiles and 32 pattern profiles. The transmitter utilizes a high-speed serial programming interface (100 MHz maximum) with 1.8V and 2.5V CMOS compatibility.
Packaged in a 260-pin NFBGA (17 mm × 11 mm) with a 0.8mm pitch, the TX7332ZBX is designed for surface mount applications. It has an active supply current of 10mA typical and operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C.
