The TVP70025IPZP from Texas Instruments is an active triple 10-bit, 90-MSPS video and graphics digitizer featuring a horizontal Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) for pixel clock generation. This device supports a wide range of component video standards including 480i, 576i, 480p, 576p, 720p, and 1080i, as well as PC graphics inputs up to 90 MSPS.
Key electrical features include independently controllable clamp, gain, and offset for each of the three digitizing channels, an 8-bit programmable gain control, and a 10-bit 90-MSPS Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC). It also offers programmable video bandwidth control and programmable RGB-to-YCbCr color space conversion. The integrated horizontal PLL can generate pixel clocks from 9 MHz to 90 MHz from an HSYNC input, with adjustable loop bandwidth for minimal jitter.
The output formatter supports 20-bit 4:2:2 outputs with embedded syncs, and can also output RGB/YCbCr 4:4:4 and YCbCr 4:2:2 modes to reduce board traces. A dedicated DATACLK output with programmable polarity is provided for easy latching of output data. The system interface is a standard I²C with register readback capability.
Packaged in a space-saving 100-pin HTQFP (16 mm x 16 mm) with an exposed pad for enhanced thermal performance, the TVP70025IPZP operates within an industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Its mounting type is surface mount.
