TVP5151IPBS

The Texas Instruments TVP5151IPBS is an ultralow-power video decoder IC designed for NTSC, PAL, and SECAM video formats. It accepts NTSC (J, M, 4.43), PAL (B, D, G, H, I, M, N, Nc), and SECAM (B, D, G, K, K1, L) video signals.

Key features include a high-speed 9-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), two composite inputs or one S-Video input, and fully differential CMOS analog preprocessing channels with clamping and automatic gain control for optimal signal-to-noise performance. The device operates with a supply voltage range from 1.8 V to 3.3 V and offers ultralow power consumption, with a power-down mode consuming less than 1 mW.

Control of brightness, saturation, hue, and sharpness is managed through an I2C interface. The TVP5151IPBS incorporates complementary 4-line adaptive comb filters for noise reduction and patented architecture for locking to weak or unstable signals. It supports standard programmable video output formats like ITU-R BT.656 and 8-bit 4:2:2 with embedded or discrete syncs. Macrovision copy protection detection is also included.

This video decoder supports advanced programmable video output formats and various VBI modes, including Teletext, Closed-Caption decode, Wide Screen Signaling, and Electronic Program Guide compatibility. It is available in a 32-terminal TQFP package suitable for surface mounting.
