The Texas Instruments TUSB4020BIPHP is an active USB 2.0 Hub Controller designed for high-speed data transfer at 480Mbps. This component features a two-port configuration with Multi-transaction translator (MTT) capabilities, offering two transaction translators and four asynchronous endpoint buffers per translator.
It supports Type C compatibility and various battery charging modes, including CDP mode when the upstream port is connected and DCP mode when unconnected. The device also complies with the Chinese telecommunications industry standard YD/T 1591-2009 for DCP mode and supports D+/D– divider mode. Power switching and overcurrent notification inputs can be controlled per port or ganged.
The TUSB4020BIPHP offers flexible configuration options through OTP ROM, serial EEPROM, or an I2C/SMBus target interface for custom VID, PID, port customizations, manufacturer, and product strings. It provides a 128-bit universally unique identifier (UUID) and supports on-board and in-system programming via the USB 2.0 upstream port. A single 24MHz crystal or oscillator is required for clock input, and no special drivers are needed for seamless operation.
