The TUSB2040AN is a 3.3-V CMOS device that functions as a 4-port hub compliant with the Universal Serial Bus (USB) specification version 1.0. It integrates USB transceivers and provides four downstream ports, all supporting full-speed and low-speed operations. The device offers flexibility with two power source modes: self-powered and bus-powered. Power switching and overcurrent reporting are available, either ganged or per port.
This hub supports suspend and resume operations, enhancing power management. It is pin-to-pin compatible with the TUSB2040 device when the EXTMEM pin is low. An optional serial EEPROM interface allows for programmable Vendor ID (VID) and Product ID (PID) descriptors when the EXTMEM pin is high, using an M93C46 or equivalent EEPROM. The EEPROM interface is tri-state, enabling EEPROM sharing.
The TUSB2040AN is available in a 28-pin DIP package. Its design facilitates the creation of USB hubs with multiple downstream connections, suitable for various peripheral expansion applications.
