TSS463

The TSS463 by Vishay Dale is a VAN Data Link Controller circuit designed to facilitate the transfer of status information in vehicles over a single wire pair, minimizing electrical wiring. It is fully compliant with the VAN Specification ISO/11519-3, supporting various module and message types, including retransmission of frames on contention and errors.

This controller offers a maximum VAN transfer rate of 1 Mbit/s. It also includes an SPI interface with a maximum transfer rate of 4 Mbit/s and an SCI interface with a maximum transfer rate of 125 Kbit/s. The device operates from a single +5V power supply and is manufactured using 0.8 µm CMOS technology.

Key features include 3 separate line inputs with automatic diagnosis and selection, normal or pulsed coding modes, idle and sleep modes, 128 Bytes of general-purpose RAM, and 14 individually maskable identifier registers. It also provides a 6-source maskable interrupt.

The TSS463 is housed in an SO16 package and is suitable for surface mounting. Its design makes it ideal for interconnecting functions to control and interface car body electronics such as lights, wipers, and power windows, as well as for dashboard controllers, car stereo, or mobile telephone CPUs.
