TSC2000IPW

The Texas Instruments TSC2000IPW is a complete PDA analog interface circuit featuring a 12-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) for resistive touch screen control. It includes drivers for measuring touch pressure and an 8-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) output for LCD contrast adjustment. The device communicates with a host controller via a standard SPI serial interface.

This controller offers programmable resolution and sampling rates, supporting 8-, 10-, or 12-bit resolution and up to 125kHz sampling frequencies to accommodate various screen sizes. It also provides two battery measurement inputs, one capable of reading voltages up to 6V while operating at a low 2.7V supply. An on-chip temperature sensor with 0.3°C resolution is also integrated.

The TSC2000IPW is housed in a 20-TSSOP package and operates within an industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Its features make it suitable for applications such as personal digital assistants, cellular phones, and MP3 players.

Key specifications include a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 3.6V, an operating current of 1.25 mA, and a 12-bit ADC resolution. The device supports 4-wire resistive touch screen input and utilizes an internal voltage reference.
