The Texas Instruments TSB81BA3EIZAJ is an integrated circuit designed as a half-duplex IEEE 1394b cable transceiver and arbiter. It fully supports provisions of IEEE P1394b Revision 1.33+ at 1-Gigabit signaling rates and is interoperable with Firewire, i.LINK, and SB1394 implementations.
This transceiver provides three fully backward-compatible, bilingual P1394b cable ports capable of speeds up to 800 Megabits per second (Mbits/s). It also offers three 1394a-2000 fully compliant cable ports operating at 100/200/400 Mbits/s. The device supports full 1394a-2000 features including connection debounce, arbitrated short reset, and multispeed concatenation.
Designed for a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, the TSB81BA3EIZAJ operates with a voltage range of 3V to 3.6V. It is available in a 168-NFBGA (7x7 mm) package, suitable for surface mount applications. The interface to the link-layer controller is pin selectable for either 1394a mode (2/4/8 parallel bits at 49.152 MHz) or 1394b mode (8 parallel bits at 98.304 MHz).
