This controller features a large 8K-byte FIFO buffer, which can be configured into eight independent Tx or Rx FIFOs, enhancing data handling capabilities.

 

Compliant with IEEE 1394-1995 and IEEE 1394a-2000 standards, the TSB42AA4PDT operates on a single 3.3V supply. It includes a high-speed data interface (HSDI) with two independent ports, supporting byte-wide or serial modes. The device also offers programmable data/space-available indications for flow control and supports bus manager functions, including automatic 1394 self-ID verification.

 

Designed for consumer electronics applications, this link layer controller is suitable for handling MPEG2 transport streams, digital video (DV) streams, and asynchronous streams. It interfaces directly to common MPEG2 decoder chipsets and supports DTCP content protection for the TSB42AA4 variant.
