The Texas Instruments TSB41AB3 is a high-performance IEEE 1394a-compliant cable transceiver and arbiter. It provides three fully compliant cable ports operating at 100, 200, and 400 Megabits per second (Mbits/s).
This device fully supports the provisions of the IEEE 1394-1995 standard and the 1394a-2000 supplement, ensuring interoperability with FireWire™ and i.LINK™ implementations. It is also fully compliant with Open HCI requirements.
Key features include connection debounce, arbitrated short reset, multispeed concatenation, arbitration acceleration, and port disable/suspend/resume functionality. The TSB41AB3 incorporates power-down features for energy conservation in battery-powered applications, such as automatic device power down during suspend and inactive port power down. An ultralow-power sleep mode is also available.
Designed for ease of integration, the TSB41AB3 operates from a single 3.3-V supply. It features fail-safe circuitry to protect connected devices during power loss and a common-mode noise filter for improved signal integrity. The device is available in a low-cost, high-performance 80-pin TQFP thermally enhanced package.
