The Texas Instruments TSB12LV32IPZ (GP2Lynx) is a high-performance, general-purpose IEEE 1394a-2000 compliant link-layer controller (LLC). It facilitates data transfer between the 1394 Phy-link interface, an external host controller, and an external device connected to its data-mover port. This controller supports transfer rates of up to 400 Mbps, making it suitable for demanding computer peripheral and consumer audio/video applications.

 

Key features include a programmable microcontroller interface supporting 8-bit or 16-bit data buses with multiple operation modes, including burst mode, and a clock frequency up to 60 MHz. It also offers an 8-bit or 16-bit data-mover port (DM port) supporting isochronous, asynchronous, and streaming transmit/receive functions at a clock frequency of 25 MHz. The device includes 2-Kbyte FIFOs for both asynchronous transmit and general receive operations, accessed via the microcontroller interface.

 

Designed for ease of integration, the TSB12LV32IPZ provides a glueless interface to 68000 and ColdFire microcontrollers/microprocessors and supports ColdFire burst transfers. It operates on a single 3.3V supply with 5V tolerance. The controller is housed in a high-performance 100-pin LQFP package.
