The TSA6060T from Philips is a fast radio tuning Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) frequency synthesizer. Manufactured using SUBILO-N technology, it performs all tuning functions for a PLL radio tuning system and is suitable for various radio receivers.
Key features include on-chip AM and FM prescalers with high input sensitivity, a high-performance tuning voltage amplifier, and a two-level current amplifier (charge pump). It operates with a reference oscillator supporting 4 or 8 MHz and offers four selectable reference frequencies: 1, 10, 25, or 50 kHz. The device provides high-speed tuning through a digital memory phase detector and includes a 40 kHz output reference frequency for communication with tuning interface ICs like the TEA6100.
The oscillator frequency range spans from 500 kHz to 30 MHz for AM and 30 MHz to 200 MHz for FM. The TSA6060T is equipped with an I2C-bus interface for microcontroller interaction, a software-controlled band switch output, and an in-lock detector output. It is designed for applications such as FM mains and car radios, and VHF receivers operating between 30 to 200 MHz.
Available in DIP16 and SO16 packages, the TSA6060T operates within an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It requires dual supply voltages, VCC1 between 4.5V and 5.5V, and VCC2 between 8.5V and 12.0V.
The TSA6060T requires two supply voltages: VCC1 (pin 3) minimum 4.5V and VCC2 (pin 16) minimum 8.5V.
The TSA6060T is available in DIP16 and SO16 packages.
The operating ambient temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
AM input frequency range is 0.5 MHz to 30 MHz. FM input frequency range is 30 MHz to 200 MHz.
Four selectable reference frequencies are available: 1, 10, 25, or 50 kHz.
Total power dissipation is typically 100 mW.
Typical supply current is 15 mA on VCC1 (pin 3) with no outputs loaded, and 1 mA on VCC2 (pin 16) with no outputs loaded.
