The Philips TSA6057 is a bipolar single-chip frequency synthesizer designed for use in all types of radio receivers. It performs all tuning functions of a PLL radio tuning system.
Key features include on-chip AM and FM prescalers with high input sensitivity, a high-performance tuning voltage amplifier, and a 2-level current amplifier (charge pump). It utilizes a single 4 MHz reference oscillator for both AM and FM operations and offers high-speed tuning via a powerful digital memory phase detector. The device provides a 40 kHz output reference frequency for cooperation with FM/IF systems and microcomputer-based tuning interface ICs like the TEA6100.
The TSA6057 supports oscillator frequency ranges from 512 kHz to 30 MHz and 30 MHz to 150 MHz. It offers 3 selectable reference frequencies (1, 10, or 25 kHz) for both tuning ranges. Communication is handled through a serial 2-wire I2C-bus interface to a microcontroller, with one programmable address input. A software-controlled band switch output is also included.
Available in DIP16 (SOT38-1) and SO16 (SOT162-1) plastic packages, the TSA6057 operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (version C8). It requires supply voltages VCC1 between 4.5V and 5.5V, and VCC2 between 8.5V and 12V.
The TSA6057 requires VCC1 of 4.5V to 5.5V and VCC2 of 8.5V to 12V.
The TSA6057 is available in DIP16 and SO16 packages.
Version C1 operates from -30°C to +85°C, while version C8 operates from -40°C to +85°C.
The AM input frequency range is 0.512 MHz to 30 MHz.
The FM input frequency range is 30 MHz to 150 MHz.
The TSA6057 offers selectable reference frequencies of 1 kHz, 10 kHz, or 25 kHz, and provides a 40 kHz output reference frequency.
The total power dissipation is typically 0.14 W.
