The Philips TSA5512M is a highly integrated, single-chip Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) frequency synthesizer. Designed specifically for TV tuning systems, it offers a complete 1.3 GHz single-chip solution.
Control data is managed through an I2C-bus interface, requiring five serial bytes for device addressing, oscillator frequency selection, programming of eight output ports, and setting the charge-pump current. Key features include low power consumption (5 V, 35 mA), an in-lock flag, varicap drive disable, and low radiation. It also provides address selection for Picture-In-Picture (PIP) and DBS tuners, an analog-to-digital converter, and 8 bus-controlled open-collector outputs (4 bidirectional).
