The TS2951 from TS is a low power ultra low dropout voltage regulator designed for battery-powered applications like portable computers and cordless telephones. It boasts a very low quiescent current of 75µA typical and a low dropout voltage, typically 40µV at light load and 380mV at 100mA.
This regulator offers excellent load and line regulation of 0.05% typical and a very low output temperature coefficient, making it suitable for use as a low-power voltage reference. The TS2951 includes an error flag output for low voltage warnings and a logic-controlled shutdown input for power management.
The output voltage can be pin-strapped for 5.0V, 3.3V, or 3.0V, or programmed from 1.24V to 29V using external resistors. It requires only a 1µF capacitor for stability and is stable with low-ESR output capacitors. The device also features current and thermal limiting.
Available in a SOP-8 package, the TS2951 is designed for applications requiring efficient power regulation and stability in portable consumer equipment and SMPS post-regulators.
The TS2951 has an adjustable output voltage from 1.24V to 29V. It can also be pin-strapped for fixed outputs of 5V, 3.3V, or 3.0V.
The TS2951 is available in an SOP-8 package.
The operating junction temperature range is -40°C to +125°C.
The typical quiescent current is 75µA.
The dropout voltage is typically 40µV at light load and 380mV at 100mA output.
The TS2951 requires only a 1µF output capacitor for stability.
The absolute maximum input supply voltage is 30V.
