This device provides the electrical interface between an asynchronous communication controller and a serial port connector. It includes ±15kV ESD protection on bus pins using the Human-Body Model (HBM). The TRSF3223CDBR is suitable for battery-powered systems, PDAs, notebooks, laptops, and hand-held equipment.

 

The transceiver is available in a 20-SSOP package and is surface-mountable. It offers flexible power management options, including an auto-powerdown feature that reduces supply current to 1 μA when the serial port is inactive and no valid RS-232 signal is detected.
