The Texas Instruments TRS3238ECDBR is a multichannel RS-232 line driver and receiver designed for 3V to 5.5V operation. It provides the electrical interface between notebook and subnotebook computer applications.
This transceiver integrates five line drivers and three line receivers, supporting a data rate of up to 400kbps. It features ±15kV ESD protection on the driver output and receiver input terminals, meeting or exceeding TIA/EIA-232-F and ITU v.28 standards.
