The Texas Instruments TRF1122IRTMR is an integrated up-converter designed for 2.5-GHz radio applications, including MDS, MMDS, and WCS. It performs up-conversion in the 2100-MHz to 2700-MHz range.
This RF mixer IC features an integrated IF amplifier, mixer, and LO buffer amplifier. It offers 20 dB of gain with a typical output P-1dB of +14 dBm and a typical output IP3 of +24 dBm. A TTL-compatible, 1-bit, 16-dB switched attenuator is provided for gain control. The device also includes TTL control for amplifier power down, making it suitable for power-critical or TDD applications.
The TRF1122IRTMR is supplied in a 32-VQFN (5x5 mm) package and is designed for surface mount applications. It operates with a supply voltage range of 4.75V to 5.25V and draws a typical current of 185mA. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
Provision is made for an external image reject/band-pass filter to meet system requirements for LO/spurious rejection. The linear nature of the up-converter makes it ideal for complex modulation schemes such as high-order QAM or OFDM.
