The TR2A is a subminiature mono phone jack from Conxall/Switchcraft's TR Series. It is a female connector with a 2.46mm industry recognized mating diameter (actual diameter 2.57mm). The jack features 2 conductors and 3 contacts with a single internal switch. Termination is via solder eyelet(s), and mounting is panel mount with included mounting hardware and thread lock. The jack is unshielded.
Electrical specifications from the datasheet include contact resistance of 0.1 ohm max, dielectric strength of 250 Vrms between tip spring and bushing, capacitance of 12 pF max between one contact and all other conducting parts, and insulation resistance of 75 MOhm max as received (1.5 MOhm min wet). Safe operation temperature is 75°C max. Mechanical characteristics include insertion force of 21 lbf max and withdrawal force of 0.5 lbf min. The contact material is silver-plated copper alloy for tip, shunt, and sleeve terminals; the bushing is nickel-plated copper alloy.
