The TPSMF4L28A is a 400W unidirectional transient voltage suppression diode from Littelfuse, part of the TPSMF4L series. It provides robust protection against voltage transients induced by lightning and other events, with a peak pulse power dissipation of 400W at 10/1000 µs waveform and a peak pulse current capability of 8.8A. The device offers a reverse standoff voltage of 28V and a clamping voltage of 45.4V, ensuring sensitive electronics are shielded from overvoltage conditions.
This TVS diode features an ultra-fast response time of less than 1 ns from 0V to VBR min. It is qualified to IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection standards, with 30kV air and contact discharge ratings, and meets IEC 61000-4-4 EFT protection requirements. The device is AEC-Q101 certified for automotive applications and is halogen-free, Pb-free (E3), and RoHS3 compliant.
Packaged in a surface mount SOD-123F (SOD-123FL per datasheet) low-profile package, the TPSMF4L28A is suitable for automated assembly. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C, with a thermal resistance of 220°C/W junction-to-ambient and 100°C/W junction-to-lead. Typical applications include portable devices, hard drives, SSDs, VCC buses, POS terminals, power supplies, and automotive electronic modules.
