The TPS5410QDRQ1 from Texas Instruments is a high-output-current PWM converter belonging to the SWIFT™ converter family. This device is a step-down (buck) converter with an adjustable output voltage down to 1.22V and an initial accuracy of 1.5%. It can deliver up to 1A continuous output current and 1.2A peak current.
Designed for automotive applications, the TPS5410QDRQ1 features a wide input voltage range from 5.5V to 36V and a fixed switching frequency of 500kHz, which helps in reducing the size of external filter components. It boasts high efficiency up to 95%, enabled by an integrated 110mΩ high-side N-channel MOSFET switch. The converter includes internal compensation to minimize external parts count and features an undervoltage-lockout circuit, an internally set slow-start circuit, and a voltage feed-forward circuit for improved transient response.
System protection is provided through overcurrent limiting, overvoltage protection, and thermal shutdown. The TPS5410QDRQ1 operates within a junction temperature range of -40°C to 125°C and is available in a compact 8-pin SOIC package suitable for surface mounting. The shutdown supply current is typically reduced to 18µA when using the ENA pin.
