The device features a synchronous buck controller with a wide input voltage range of 3.0V to 28V. It supports D-CAP mode with a 100-ns load step response and can utilize ceramic output capacitors. The output voltage is adjustable from 0.75V to 3.0V, with specific support for DDR (2.5V), DDR2 (1.8V), DDR3 (adjustable to 1.5V), DDR3L (1.35V), LPDDR3, and DDR4 (1.2V).

 

In addition to the buck controller, the TPS51116RGERG4 includes a 3A LDO for VTT and a buffered reference for VREF. The LDO is capable of sinking and sourcing 3A and requires only a 20-µF ceramic output capacitor. The buffered VREF output is low noise with an accuracy of ±20 mV for both VREF and VTT.
