This transceiver provides 160 kbps full-duplex transmission on a single twisted-pair, with user-accessible channels including 2 'B' channels at 64 kbps each, 1 'D' channel at 16 kbps, and an additional 4 kbps for loop maintenance. It utilizes 2B1Q line coding, transmitting pairs of binary bits into one of four quantum levels at 80k symbols/sec. The device includes adaptive digital signal processors and digital phase-locked loops to meet demanding Bit Error Rate specifications.

 

Key features include 170 dB adaptive echo-cancellation and equalization, on-chip timing recovery, and a range exceeding 18 kft of #26 AWG wire. It supports selectable digital interface formats such as TDM with Microwire control, GCI, or IDL. The TP3410J304/NOPB is suitable for LT, NT-1, NT-2 Trunks, U-TE’s, and Regenerators.

 

The component is housed in a 28-CDIP Through Hole package. It consumes 325 mW active power and 20 mW in idle mode with a line signal 'wake-up' detector.
