The TP3054N from Texas Instruments is part of the enhanced serial interface CODEC/Filter COMBO family. This monolithic PCM CODEC/filter utilizes an advanced double-poly CMOS process. It features both transmit and receive filtering, including active RC pre-filters and a switched-capacitor band-pass filter.
The encode portion includes a gain adjust amplifier and a companding coder for m-law PCM format. The decode portion reconstructs the analog signal and includes a low-pass filter with sin x/x correction. The device supports a serial PCM interface and requires master clocks, bit clocks, and frame sync pulses.
Designed for D3/D4 and CCITT applications, the TP3054N operates at ±5V with low power consumption. It is available in a 16-PDIP package suitable for through-hole mounting and operates within a temperature range of -25°C to 125°C.
