TOP266VG

The Power Integrations TOP266VG is an integrated off-line switcher that combines a 725V power MOSFET, high-voltage switched current source, multi-mode PWM control, oscillator, thermal shutdown circuit, and fault protection onto a single monolithic device. It is designed for highly efficient power supplies, offering energy efficiency over the entire load range with no-load consumption below 100 mW at 265 VAC.

Key electrical specifications include a breakdown voltage of 725V, a power output of 39W, and selectable switching frequencies of 66kHz or 132kHz. The device operates within an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 150°C and features a duty cycle of 78%. It includes extensive protection features such as auto-restart, output short-circuit protection (SCP), output over-current protection (OCP), output overload protection (OPP), output overvoltage protection (OVP), line undervoltage (UV) detection, line overvoltage (OV) shutdown, and accurate thermal shutdown (OTP).

The TOP266VG is available in an eDIP-12 package with through-hole mounting. This package option is suitable for ultra-slim designs with its low profile horizontal orientation, allowing heat transfer to both the PCB and an optional external heat sink. The device simplifies meeting design derating requirements and reduces EMI filter costs due to frequency jittering.
