The Power Integrations TOP264KG-TL is an integrated off-line switcher IC that combines a 725V power MOSFET, multi-mode PWM control, oscillator, thermal shutdown, and fault protection circuitry onto a single monolithic device.
This component is ideal for applications requiring high efficiency over the entire load range, with no-load consumption below 100 mW at 265 VAC. It offers design flexibility with multi-mode PWM control, 132 kHz operation to reduce transformer size, and an optional 66 kHz mode for highest efficiency requirements. The device includes accurate programmable current limit, optimized line feed-forward for ripple rejection, and frequency jittering to reduce EMI filter costs.
Extensive protection features are built-in, including auto-restart for overload faults, output short-circuit protection (SCP), output over-current protection (OCP), output overload protection (OPP), output overvoltage protection (OVP), and accurate thermal shutdown with hysteresis (OTP). It also features line undervoltage (UV) detection and line overvoltage (OV) shutdown.
The TOP264KG-TL is available in an eSOP-12 package, suitable for surface mounting in ultra-slim designs. It supports wave or reflow soldering and features heat transfer to the PCB via an exposed pad and SOURCE pins.
