The Texas Instruments TNETW1350A is a single-chip media access controller (MAC) and baseband processor ideally suited for 802.11b/g residential gateways and stationary consumer electronics devices such as set-top boxes and wireless media adapters. This device, when teamed with TI's RF solutions like the TNETW3422 transceiver and TNETW3428 radio-frequency front end (RFFE), provides high-output power and exceptional price/performance for 802.11b/g residential gateway applications.
The TNETW1350A chipset features G++ technology, enabling whole-house coverage and faster throughput. It supports a TX output power of 23 dBm and industry-leading RX sensitivity, providing up to 2x extended range. Network robustness is improved using unique techniques to minimize interference. The software also features an enhanced 125 Mbps mode, enabling TCP/IP throughput of 36 Mbps in real-world environments.
