The Texas Instruments TMS320C6414TBGLZA6 is a powerful fixed-point digital signal processor (DSP) from the TMS320C64x family. It is designed for high-performance applications, offering instruction cycle times as low as 1 ns and clock rates up to 1 GHz. This DSP supports eight 32-bit instructions per cycle and up to twenty-eight operations per cycle, achieving MIPS ratings from 4800 to 8000.

Key architectural features include the VelociTI.2 extensions to the VLIW TMS320C64x DSP core, with eight highly independent functional units. It boasts six ALUs and two multipliers capable of multiple arithmetic operations per clock cycle. The device includes a non-aligned load-store architecture and 64 32-bit general-purpose registers, with instruction packing to reduce code size. All instructions are conditional.

The memory architecture comprises a 128K-bit L1P program cache and a 128K-bit L1D data cache, along with an 8M-bit L2 unified mapped RAM/cache. It features two external memory interfaces (EMIFs), one 64-bit (EMIFA) and one 16-bit (EMIFB), supporting glueless interfaces to various synchronous and asynchronous memories. An enhanced direct-memory-access (EDMA) controller with 64 independent channels and a host-port interface (HPI) are also included.

This DSP is housed in a 532-FCBGA package and operates within an extended temperature range of -40°C to 105°C. It supports multiple interfaces including Host Interface, McBSP, PCI (32-bit/33-MHz, 3.3-V), and UTOPIA, making it suitable for a wide range of embedded processing applications.
