Additional features include hardware or software wait-state generation, an on-chip timer, repeat instructions, buffered serial ports, and multiple PLL clocking options.

 

Designed for efficiency, the TMS320C51PQ supports low power dissipation modes, consuming as little as 3 mA in IDLE2 mode at 5 V with clocks off. It also incorporates on-chip scan-based emulation logic and boundary scan capabilities, adhering to IEEE Standard 1149.1 (JTAG).
