The Texas Instruments TMS320C30GEL is a 32-bit floating-point digital signal processor (DSP) manufactured using 0.7-mm EPIC CMOS technology. It offers high performance with instruction cycle times as low as 40 ns for the TMS320C30-50 variant, achieving up to 275 MOPS, 50 MFLOPS, and 25 MIPS.

 

Key features include a 32-bit CPU, support for 16-/32-bit integer and 32-/40-bit floating-point operations, and a 32-bit instruction word with 24-bit addresses. The processor integrates on-chip memory, including two 1K x 32-bit RAM blocks and one 4K x 32-bit ROM block, along with memory-mapped peripherals like two serial ports and two 32-bit timers. A DMA coprocessor facilitates concurrent I/O and CPU operation.

 

Designed for demanding applications, the TMS320C30GEL supports multiprocessing with interlocked instructions and offers flexible bus control. It is available in an 181-Pin Grid Array Ceramic Package (GEL Suffix) and is mounted through hole. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 85°C (TC), and it operates at a voltage of 5.00V.
