The TMP468AIRGTR from Texas Instruments is a versatile digital temperature sensor designed for accurate system monitoring. It features a two-wire, SMBus or I²C compatible interface, allowing for seamless integration into various designs.
This sensor can monitor up to eight remote diode-connected temperature zones simultaneously, in addition to its local temperature. This capability is crucial for aggregating temperature measurements across a system, enabling tighter guard bands and potentially reducing board complexity. The device boasts a high accuracy of ±0.75°C for both local and remote diode measurements.
Key features include a wide supply and logic voltage range of 1.7 V to 3.6 V, low operating current of 67 µA (at 1 SPS, all channels active), and a shutdown current of 0.3 µA. The temperature resolution is 0.0625°C. The TMP468AIRGTR is available in a 16-VQFN (3x3) package, suitable for surface mounting.
Its design incorporates features like series resistance cancellation, η-factor correction, offset correction, and diode fault detection for remote diodes. A register lock function secures key registers, enhancing system reliability. This sensor is ideal for applications requiring precise multi-zone temperature monitoring.
