The TMP102 from Diodes Incorporated is a low-power digital temperature sensor designed for applications requiring accurate temperature measurements without calibration. It features an I2C and SMBus compatible interface, allowing up to four devices on a single bus. The sensor operates over a supply voltage range of 1.4V to 3.6V and consumes minimal quiescent current.
With a 12-bit ADC, the TMP102 provides high resolution temperature readings down to 0.0625°C. Its accuracy is rated at ±2.0°C from -25°C to 85°C and ±3.0°C from -40°C to 125°C. The device is specified for operation across a wide temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
Packaged in a compact SOT563 (1.6mm x 1.6mm) surface-mount package, the TMP102 offers a significantly smaller footprint compared to traditional SOT-23 packages. This makes it suitable for space-constrained portable electronics, battery management systems, and general temperature monitoring in industrial and consumer devices.
