The TMP006AIYZFT from Texas Instruments is a fully integrated MEMS thermopile sensor designed for noncontact temperature sensing. It measures the temperature of an object by absorbing passive infrared energy.
This sensor operates within a local temperature range of -40°C to 125°C and can measure object temperatures beyond this range as long as the device itself stays within its operating limits. It features a two-wire serial interface compatible with I2C and SMBus protocols, offering a resolution of 15 bits.
The device supports a supply voltage range of 2.2V to 5.5V and includes a shutdown mode for low power consumption. The accuracy is specified as ±1°C maximum from 0°C to 60°C and ±1.5°C maximum from -40°C to 125°C.
Packaged in an 8-DSBGA (8-UFBGA) surface-mount package, the TMP006AIYZFT is suitable for various applications requiring noncontact temperature measurement, such as case temperature monitoring, laser printers, and power relays.
