The Texas Instruments TMDS141RHAR is an active HDMI redriver IC designed to enhance and translate TMDS signals for HDMI 1.3a compatibility. It supports signaling rates of up to 2.25 Gbps, suitable for resolutions up to 1080p and color depths of 12-bits per color (36-bits per pixel).

 

This redriver features integrated receiver termination, an 8-dB equalizer to compensate for signal losses over longer HDMI cables (up to 5 meters), and selectable output de-emphasis for improved transmission over 1-meter HDMI cables. It also includes an I2C repeater to isolate bus capacitance and facilitate EDID reading and HDCP key exchange.

 

The TMDS141RHAR operates within a voltage range of 3V to 3.6V and has an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. It is housed in a 40-VQFN (6x6 mm) package and is designed for surface mount applications. The device also provides HBM ESD protection exceeding 6 kV.

 

This component is ideal for applications requiring signal integrity over HDMI connections, such as display interfaces and video transmission systems. Its integrated features reduce the need for external components, simplifying board design.
