The TMC2660-PA-T is a versatile and cost-effective driver for two-phase bipolar stepper motors, manufactured by Trinamic Motion Control GmbH. It integrates control and power stages, featuring internal power MOSFETs capable of handling motor currents up to 4A per coil and operating at voltages up to 30V DC.
This IC provides industry-leading features including up to 256 microsteps per full step for high resolution, sensorless motor load detection with stallGuard2™, and load-adaptive power optimization via coolStep™ technology for energy savings up to 75%. It also includes microPlyer™ for increased smoothness and spreadCycle™ for precise current waveform control.
Designed for robust operation, the TMC2660-PA-T incorporates protection and diagnostic features such as overcurrent, short to GND, overtemperature, and undervoltage protection. Communication is simplified through standard SPI™ and STEP/DIR interfaces. The compact 10x10mm QFP-44 package (44-LQFP) with surface mount capability enables miniaturized designs with a low external component count.
