The Texas Instruments TLV5616ID is a 12-bit, single-channel, voltage output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) designed for a wide range of supply voltages from 2.7 V to 5.5 V. It features a flexible 4-wire serial interface compatible with TMS320, SPI, QSPI, and Microwire serial ports, allowing for glueless integration into various systems.
This DAC offers programmable settling time, allowing designers to optimize the balance between speed and power consumption. In fast mode, the settling time is 3 µs, while in slow mode, it is 9 µs. The device boasts ultra-low power consumption, with a typical value of 900 µW in slow mode at 3 V and 2.1 mW in fast mode at 3 V. It also includes a power-down mode with a consumption of only 10 nA.
The TLV5616ID provides a buffered, rail-to-rail voltage output that is twice the reference input voltage. It features a high-impedance reference input buffer and is monotonic over temperature. The typical differential nonlinearity is less than 0.5 LSB.
This component is available in an 8-SOIC package and is suitable for applications such as digital servo control loops, digital offset and gain adjustment, industrial process control, machine and motion control devices, and mass storage devices. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
